The Los Angeles Machinist Benefit Trust offers a comprehensive benefits package to you and your covered dependents. Below is a chart that gives you a General Overview of Possible Benefits. The 2020 Schedule of Benefits shows which of the benefits are available to you under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Union and your Employer. Exams, lenses, and frames at specified intervals.
Weekly Disability You—if this benefit has been negotiated for you*Depending on the Collective Bargaining Agreement, either $85 per week or 35 percent of your basic weekly salary for up to 26 weeks per period of disability.
Employee Life InsuranceYou—if this benefit has been negotiated for you*Pays the amount negotiated for you to your beneficiary in the event of your death. Also has an accelerated payment feature for terminal illness.
Dependent Life InsuranceYour eligible dependents—if this benefit has been negotiated as part of your benefits*Pays $1,000 to you in the event your spouse or dependent child dies (or $100, if the child is less than 6 months old).
Employee Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) InsuranceYou—if life insurance benefits have been negotiated for you*Pays a benefit to your beneficiary in the event of your death from an accident. Pays a benefit to you if you lose use of a body part (foot, hand, eye) in an accident.

*If you are a non-bargaining unit employee, the benefits negotiated for the bargaining unit employees of your employer are also available to you.
